Albany is located on the East
shore of San Francisco Bay, across from the
Golden Gate Bridge.
Nestled in the
northwestern corner of Alameda County, Albany is bordered by the
cities of El Cerrito and Richmond on the north and the City of
Berkeley on the east and south sides. The topography of Albany is
mostly flat but at one point rises to an elevation of 338 feet above
sea level. The Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge is located just a
few miles south of Albany, off Interstate-80. Easy accessible public
transportation services are provided to San Francisco, Richmond,
Berkeley, Oakland and beyond.
Today Albany has
a population of around 18,000,
with over half of the population 35 years of age or younger.
This little city boasts a small-town air but is centrally located in
a major metropolitan area.. Albany consist primarily of
single-family homes and small businesses and its public schools
